About the show…
This production features 76 students, ages 7-18 years old that are all students at Dancers Workshop. Choreography is by our very own Ms. Kristi, Ms. Julia, Ms. Taylor and Ms. Lilly. Together, they tell the story of Clara, her sister, parents, and uncle Drosselmyer preparing to host a holiday party. Guests arrive and enjoy dancing and the lighting of the tree. Clara’s uncle surprises Clara with a gift of a nutcracker. Her sister becomes jealous and smashes the nutcracker on the floor. Clara’s uncle consoles her, repairs the nutcracker and promises her a magical dream before she drifts to sleep. In her dream, Clara helps the Nutcracker defeat the Rat King who tries to harm her. With help from Angels, the Sugar Plum Fairy revives the Nutcracker. In Act II the Angels lead Clara and the Nutcracker to the Sugar Plum Fairy’s magical Kingdom of the Sweets. Clara is entertained by sweets from around the world along with a beautiful Waltz of the Flowers. The Sugar Plum Fairy and Nutcracker also perform for Clara. The ballet ends with Clara back in her home awakening under the tree with the nutcracker in her arms. She wonders… was it a dream after all???
This production is perfect for our younger students as well, as the entire show is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Young dancers also love seeing other young dancers performing these roles. To envision yourself as a mouse, soldier, snowflake, Clara, or even the Sugar Plum Fairy captures the imagination and inspires the love of arts.

Viewing Options:
– All seating is reserved, at $25 per ticket. Shows are Sunday, December 5th at 1pm and 4:30pm. Hays is a beautiful venue with lots of great seating. The front half of the seating near the stage is gradually inclined. The back half is stadium seating, with elevator access if needed. You are welcome to purchase additional reserved seats to accommodate for social distancing, if desired.
– We will also be offering an “on demand” viewing option for those that cannot attend in person. On-demand will be available December 20-December 31 and will be an HD recording of our 4:30pm live performance. You only need one on demand ticket per household. Links for this on-demand option will be emailed to you via the ticketing website. All links expire on December 31, 2021. One on-demand ticket is $40.
– Your third viewing option is a Digital Download. This makes a wonderful keepsake for our dancers and their families. Digital downloads are available to purchase now and will be sent in early January 2022. Each digital download is $35.
